My love of fine lettering began as a young girl, when my mother first showed me her album of Italic calligraphy samples. Excited to learn how to write beautifully, I began practicing calligraphy every day. Soon I started making handmade cards and bookmarks for family and friends. Years later, I began sharing my love of calligraphy with children and started teaching beginner calligraphy classes. I now work from my home studio in Midlothian, TX, specializing in Pointed Pen Calligraphy Script, and other fine styles of lettering for special occasions. I also offer periodic calligraphy lessons via email, which often conclude with an in-person one afternoon class. My styles range from fresh and contemporary, to clean and simple, to elegant and traditional. I love swirly calligraphy flourishes!
I am a member of IAMPETH, the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting. I feel blessed to have been able to study under several master penmen including world-renown Spencerian calligrapher Michael Sull and The White House calligrapher Pat Blair. These instructors, and more, have helped to give me a wonderful foundation in Copperplate and Spencerian calligraphy.
